Electrical Engineering

About the Department:

The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the first three engineering departments of the institute that started in 2010. The Department started with certificate program in Servicing and Maintenance of Electrical Appliances in 2010. Then Diploma program in Electrical Engineering was introduced in 2012 and Degree program in Electrical Engineering was introduced in 2014. All courses run by the department follow modular pattern with vertical mobility and direct entry. Presently, the department is located at Academic Block-A (the block was inaugurated by Former Honorable President in India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee) in GKCIET Narayanpur campus (foundation was laid by Former Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh), Malda, West Bengal.

The department is equipped with following laboratory: Basic Electrical, Basic Electronics, Measurement and Instrumentation, Power System, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Micro-processor and Micro-controller. The state of art laboratory is in developing stage.

The Department continues to participate in different academic activities. Members of faculty of the department are involved in research in different emerging field of engineering.
